And do you see what I did there? Yep, I hyperlinked to one of my service pages. I did this, so you can find the page easily and also because Google loves a bit of internal linking. SEO geek in the house… check !
The aim of this post is to let you in on who I am and why I do what I do. As I say on my homepage and about page, I want to bring a freshness to the SEO industry which I think many wonderful small business owners need.
There are so many pirates/sharks/dodgy/____ SEOs out that (feel free to fill in the blank however you wish) and I want to be that refreshing light at the end of the tunnel for those business owners who put not only their website, but their livelihood in the hands of an online marketing specialist.
So grab a glass of wine, coffee, green smoothie, whatever your tipple might be, and read on…
Who am I?
My name is Casey Bryan. I am 30-something year old who was born in New Zealand and has spent half of my life travelling the globe.
I’ve called the following places home over the years: Finland, Thailand, Dubai, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Not to mention I also backpacked my way through Europe ensuring I visited as many wine regions as possible.
A couple of years ago I married my university sweetheart in Vanuatu and we are crazy cat parents to our two fur babies – Fizzy and Crackle.
When I am not doing what I do for Grand Cru Digital (more on that below), I am writing about wine, drinking wine, visiting wineries or matching wine with food for my wine blog over at travellingcorkscrew.com.au
The blog has been going for over 8 years now and it is the reason my love for online marketing and content writing has blossomed into a full-blown career. I am truly lucky to have found something I am so passionate about.
So that sort of sums me up. If you do come on as a client, you’ll no doubt get to know me better and I am looking forward to getting to know you too!
The Grand Cru Digital family!
What do I do?
My core specialities are SEO, Google AdWords and Website Content. All three of these digital marketing areas really go hand in hand; they’re all about getting Mr. Google to love us that little bit more.
SEO means search engine optimisation. For instance, you could own a restaurant and have the best menu in town and the nicest looking location, but you need some form of marketing to help people find it and know you’re there. SEO is the marketing for websites.
It’s an organic form of marketing, which means you need to earn your rewarding Google love (i.e. more website visitors).
Plus, did I mention SEO is free for any business? Most business owners do pay a specialist though, as it does require a lot of time and knowledge to do it well.
How is it done? Well that would be a book long answer, so I suggest you head over to my SEO service page for a bit more info.
Website content falls under SEO, however I do have on offer content writing and strategy as a separate service because sometimes as a business owner you simply need help crafting those words or the plan of attack.
And lastly, Google AdWords is paid ‘pay-per-click’ advertising. These are the results you see at the very top of the search engine result pages that have a little green ad symbol. You can also find the ‘Google Shopping’ ads up there too. Through AdWords you can advertise via the Display Network which is across other sites on the internet (text and image ads) alongside video ads on YouTube and even mobile app ads.
SEO and PPC as they say, go hand in hand. They are both part of Search Marketing and I am qualified in both and eager to bring great results to my eagerly awaiting clients (thank you for your patience – yep websites do take some time!).
Where do I work?
I am currently based in Sale, Victoria. ‘Where’ do you say?
Basically, we are about 3-hours’ drive out of Melbourne, near Traralgon.
So yes, I work out of my lovely home office. I am now 3 weeks in and I am absolutely loving it.
I am glad to have finally finished creating and optimising this website though! Websites sure do take time.
Fun Fact: We use 100% carbon neutral electricity in the GCD office. We want to be part of the movement towards a better energy future in Australia.
Did I also mention we didn’t have furniture and had to live out of our suitcases for the first 3 weeks in Sale because our stuff took so long to arrive?
Why Grand Cru Digital?
The reason I left my Search Marketing Director role at a boutique SEO agency in Perth, Western Australia is because the hubby, aka Morgan, accepted a new job interstate in Victoria. After 6 years in Perth we were excited to be starting a new adventure.
Obviously, there are not a heck of a lot of SEO companies here in Sale, so it seemed only natural to start up my own small business.
Despite the fact that I live in country Victoria, starting up Grand Cru means I can still offer my passion, my skills and my knowledge to small business owners around Australia and New Zealand.
The beauty of what I do is that it can be done anywhere.
